Principal Cast: Paz de la Huerta, Adam Brooks, Matthew Kennedy, Conor Sweeney, Udo Kier, Laurence R. Harvey

Screens With Short Film: MASSACRE AT FEMUR CREEK || (dir. Kyle Hytonen)

Rey Ciso (Adam Brooks) was once the greatest editor the world had ever seen. Since a horrific accident left him with four wooden fingers on his right hand, he's had to resort to cutting pulp films and trash pictures. When the lead actors from the film he's been editing turn up murdered at the studio, Rey is fingered as the number one suspect. The bodies continue to pile up in this absurdist giallo-thriller as Rey struggles to prove his innocence and learn the sinister truth lurking behind the scenes.

From ASTRON-6, the team that created Father's Day and Manborg, The Editor is a hilarious and charmingly spot on spoof of 70's Italian slashers by masters such as Dario Argento and Mario Bava featuring all the gory and gratuitous eroticism of classic giallos with the unique ASTRON-6 eye for the absurd.

BLOODY KNUCKLES
9:30pm
|| Hamilton Premiere!||

(CANADA) 2014, 85 mins

Principal Cast: Adam Boys, Kasey Ryne Mazak, Gabrielle Giraud, Dwayne Bryshun

Screens With Short Film: ROID RAGE (Ryan Lightbourn)

When Travis, an underground comic book creator with a penchant for obscene caricatures, offends a Chinese crime boss, the crime lord responds by chopping of Travis's right hand. In the wake of his dismemberment, Travis spins out into a drunken depression and abandons his art until his severed hands returns from the dead to help lift Travis back on his feet and get revenge. Together with the help of a gay S&M vigilante and fan of Travis's work, Travis and his hand set out rid the city of evil. BLOODY KNUCKLES is a deliriously offensive, gory, and happily un-PC horror-comedy.

CANCELLED: Kung Fu Double Feature (June 6)

It is with great disappointment that Fright Night Theatre must cancel tonight's Kung Fu Double Feature of Police Story: Lockdown and Kung Fu Killer.

As director of Fright Night Theatre, I apologize to everyone who was excited to see this double-bill tonight and made plans to join us. Those of you who bought tickets will of course be refunded in full.

At Fright Night Theatre Film Festival, we pride ourselves on putting on a good show and bringing movies to Hamilton that you won't see anywhere else in the city. Unfortunately, some last-minute technical issues with our screening materials meant that we would have to compromise video and audio quality tonight in order to proceed. We worked with the distributor to try and find a solution, but, sadly, nothing could be done despite their best efforts. Although we had to cancel tonight's presentation, we have a lot of amazing films and screening events lined up for the coming Summer and Fall season. Please stay tuned to this site for news and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

Both of tonight's films are now available on VOD, however, so you can still seek them out for some top-notch Hong Kong action entertainment.

If you have any issues or concerns with this cancellation, please contact me at aaron@frightnighttheatre.com.

YOU GOTTA SEE THIS! Praise for CIRCUS OF THE DEAD

“There’s a TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE vibe to this entire film as the level of lunacy reaches a fever pitch early on in this film and doesn't let up until the end.” - Ain’t It Cool Horror

"[A] phenomenal film that will be damned hard to beat.” - Horror Society

“With it’s unflinching and unapologetic display of the blackest, most evil of capabilities that can exist in people, Circus of the Dead does what we ultimately want a horror film to do…it horrifies.” - Legless Corpse

"If you are prepared to see a film so menacing it will stay with you for days, "Circus of the Dead" is a must!” - Horror News Network

"This might be the bad guy horror fans have been waiting for. Billy Oberst Jr's performance as Papa Corn is one of the most exciting things I have seen in an indie horror film in the last few years.” - Nathan Thomas Milliner, Horror Artist

Werewolf Double Feature - A Howling Success!

There was no full moon in the sky on March 21st, but The Staircase Theater was packed nonetheless with howling fans for Fright Night Theatre's Werewolf Double Feature of LATE PHASES and WOLFCOP! Not only did fans come out en masse for hairy, scary werewolf thrills but also to support real live wolves.

Mar 16, 2015

WEREWOLF DOUBLE FEATURE - Support the Eastern Wolf!

Purchase tickets to LATE PHASES & WOLFCOP and help protect the Eastern Wolf!

In our shared mythology, the wolf is a monster. It haunts our popular culture as a symbol of the carnivorous wild that has terrified human kind since prehistoric times as much as it represents the inner beast within us all. Especially in the horror genre, the wolf has been long associated with evil, terror, blood lust, and horror. But the wolf is not the monster of our medieval imaginations. It is an important species that, sadly, is under threat by a truly dangerous species: humanity.

That is why Fright Night Theatre has pledged to use our March 21st double-bill of werewolf films LATE PHASES and WOLFCOP to help support the Eastern Wolf of Ontario and Canada. After costs, we will be donating 50% of all ticket sales to the Bring Back the Wild™ project which aims to support Eastern wolf research and education.

TICKET PURCHASE LOCATIONS

* ONLINE (Visa or Mastercard)

* HAMMER CITY RECORDS (cash-only): 228 James St N Basement @ Rear Off Robert St. Hamilton, Ontario

* CRASH LANDING (cash-only): 1189 Cannon Street East. Hamilton, Ontario

Donated funds will be used to:
  • Support telemetry research by Dr. Brent Patterson of the Ministry of Natural Resources to learn more about this apex predator’s movement patterns, current distribution and habitat use in Algonquin Provincial Park
  • Help verify a possible second Ontario eastern wolf population in the Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands
Eastern wolves were once plentiful in the forests of eastern North America, but human development has squeezed their population into smaller and smaller numbers. As a species of Special Concern in Canada, the eastern wolf is threatened by habitat loss, forest degradation and hunting

By supporting research of the eastern wolf and its habitat needs, initiatives like Bring Back the Wold will help the eastern wolf survive and expand in the future.

November 22: BAG BOY LOVER BOY (ONTARIO PREMIERE)

BAG BOY LOVER BOY
|| Ontario Premiere! ||
Directed by Andres Torres
(USA) 2014, 77 mins

Hot off its World Premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival, Bag Boy Lover Boy is the new underground cult film that the The Hollywood Reporter raves is "tailor-made for the midnight crowd." Oddball hotdog vendor and love-lorn loser Albert is shocked to find himself thrust into the world of perverse fetish art photography when  an an enigmatic NYC photographer named Ivan plucks him from obscurity to be his bizarre new muse and model. However, when Ivan accidentally leaves Albert with the keys to his studio, Albert decides that his best way to woo women is to become a freelance photographer. Soon, Albert is luring call girls and drunken women away from parties with the promise of modelling gigs that in his inept hands soon turn deadly and increasingly depraved. But what will happen when he, unable to distinguish sleazy art from reality, finally convinces the girl of his dreams to get behind the camera?
