HEX FILM FEST 2020: JAY CLARKE TO LEAD SHORT FILM PROGRAMMING

The Hexploitation Film Festival is proud to announce that HXFF team member Jay Clarke will be assuming the new role of Lead of Short Film Programming for the Hexploitation Film Festival: Feb 20-22, 2020. 


Jay Clarke: Lead of Short Film Programming

Born in Oakville, Ontario and raised on a steady diet of eighties horror flicks, Jay has been a programmer for the Hexploitation Film Festival for over five years. He has written and directed several short films which have screened across North America. Jay also continues to program for the Saskatoon Fantastic Film Festival, Toronto Smartphone Film Festival and Toronto's monthly genre short film showcase Little Terrors. He is the founder of The Horror Section, a VHS archive and horror media blog.

DESCRIPTION

We're all mad here! Put on your straitjacket for a night of hand-picked horror shorts thematically arranged to showcase characters who are not quite right in the head. Whether they're about full blown psychopaths, fiends compelled by dangerous desires, people who suffer from diseased brains, or just idiots who make some hilarious and questionable decisions, these exciting horror shorts are truly a window into some diseased minds (and we don't just mean the filmmakers). All shorts are eligible to win the Fright Night Theatre BEST SHORT audience choice award.

At this time, all tickets for tomorrow night's short film presentation HORROR SHORT FILM SHOWCASE #7 have been sold. Although we are anticipating a full house given advanced sell-out and high demand for tickets, some tickets may come available for purchase at the door when the box office opens at 7pm on Saturday, August 1st.

RUSH TICKET DETAILS

1.) Please arrive early to join our line for potential rush tickets.
2.) Rush tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis once all confirmed ticket holders have been seated and vacant seats have been assessed
3.) Rush tickets will be sold for $5.00 (cash-only)
4.) Theatre doors open at 7pm but rush ticket customers are advised to arrive earlier
